SAD! Poor woman’s purse snatched while loading her car in front of Home Depot!

Welcome to latest installment of the Lawless Paradise of Houston.

Here we have another innocent victim: a woman loading her SUV in front of The Home Depot on Westheimer and Dunvale, west of the Galleria.

The robbery was back in May. The video was just released.
Take a look… we’ll wait for you to finish…

Shaking your head? Outraged? Fuming? You should be.

Now, a few things —
Sadly, this should come as no surprise. Whether you’ve lived in Houston your entire life or you’re a newcomer from California (bless your heart), Houston continues to hit new lows when it comes to the safety, security, and wellbeing of its citizens. That’s a given.

But did you catch the last 10 seconds of the video? The man helping this woman load her car with lumber just STOOD still — a deer in headlights — while the woman was wrangling with the punk thief. Unacceptable.
If you ever see this happening (an innocent woman being victimized by some hoodlum), you had better make an effort to keep her safe and get her belongings back. What if that was your mother, your auntie, or your wife?

The police, God bless them, are understaffed and overworked. (Have you driven down Westheimer lately? We’ve seen safer streets across the border.)
We continue to call on private businesses to beef up their security efforts. And if you’re part of a strip center, it’s time to collaborate with the property management group in the name of your customers’ safety. The rent-a-cops driving beat-up old cars with flashing orange lights are not enough. We need off-duty in-uniform officers — especially in high-crime areas. (And while you’re at it, upgrade those security cameras! If I can buy an HD security camera on Amazon for under $50, there’s no reason any surveillance footage should look like it was shot on the first-generation iPhone.)

Finally… we keep tellin’ you…
This once-peaceful part of town (yeah, you’ll have to go back decades, but we remember) is now one of the most crime-ridden slums of The Chicago of the South.
This neighborhood’s zip code ranked #11 on the list of most robberies in 2019-2020. And in nearby neighborhoods, it’s even worse! (God help Bering’s Hardware)

If you have a loved one and they’re living, working, or shopping in the city of Houston, we strongly urge you to have them reconsider. Thankfully this woman emerged unscathed. But so many others have not. So many killers are still on the loose.
Every day, running errands in the daytime or going out for dinner at night turns into disaster for too many innocent people in this liberal, lawless hellhole.

And if those relatives of yours are stubborn and they’re determined to keep running around this jungle, at the very least make sure they’re carrying a firearm (and make sure they know how to use it!).

Houston has become a microcosm for the state of America. It’s teetering on the verge of collapse. Crime. Unrest. Disconnect. While we feel there are enough of us to stand up, get vocal, get active, and save our communities, the truth is we’re not there yet. But that’s a topic for another day.

Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen, as to whether this purse-snatching punk is currently out on bond but his momma says he’s “really a good kid and didn’t mean to hurt nobody.”
